Rent A Human partnered with Qwick to execute a street team activation at SXSW in Austin, Texas. The engagement ran across the festival's peak days, March 10 and March 11, 2023, with Rent A Human fielding a team that grew from four to five brand ambassadors as the activation moved into its second day and festival traffic built. Rent A Human's brand ambassadors worked the streets around SXSW using guerilla marketing tactics to put the Qwick brand directly in front of festival attendees, rather than waiting for foot traffic to find a fixed booth. That mobile approach let the team cover more ground across the festival's dense downtown footprint and generate a higher volume of direct, one-on-one interactions than a stationary presence would allow. Over the two-day activation, conversations centered on brand awareness and Qwick's on-demand staffing model, a message tailored to an audience that included both SXSW attendees and the broader Austin service and hospitality workforce the festival draws each March. The short, high-intensity window meant staffing had to hold up under sustained foot traffic without a rotating crew, and Rent A Human kept the same core team in place across both days. The result was hundreds of direct interactions and heightened visibility for Qwick across one of the most crowded marketing environments in the country, delivered by a lean, mobile team rather than a large fixed footprint.
