The Campaign
Rent A Human partnered with Microsoft to execute event staffing and guest experience management at the National Retail Federation Show in New York City. Held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from January 12 to January 14, 2020, the engagement ran across three consecutive days and put a team of eight to nine on-site staff on the floor each day, handling attendee flow, meeting check-in, and wayfinding support for the multi-day conference. Rent A Human's team provided high-touch support and on-site leadership throughout the show, coordinating registration, guest experience touchpoints, and real-time problem-solving to keep the Microsoft presence running smoothly across the convention center's high-traffic corridors. The staffing model called for consistent daily coverage, with team size holding steady in the eight-to-nine range as the show moved from setup through peak attendance days. The relationship with Microsoft extended beyond New York. Rent A Human also staffed the HIMSS Conference in Chicago in April 2023, deploying a team of six to seven at McCormick Place's South Building across four consecutive event days. That engagement mirrored the NRF approach: steady team sizing, multi-day coverage, and on-site leadership focused on guest experience and event staffing rather than a single peak moment. Across both engagements, Rent A Human's approach centered on dependable, day-over-day staffing rather than one-off support, giving Microsoft consistent coverage at two of its highest-profile industry events, one in New York's Javits Center and one in Chicago's McCormick Place, three years apart.
